Our Story
Jilani Chowdhury and George Oliver founded Strand Hill in July 2019.
George and Jilani have worked together for over a decade, recruiting exclusively into the Real Estate and Investment Management sectors. Both achieved success in billing and senior management roles, within international recruitment businesses, before setting up Strand Hill with the aim of providing a highly specialised recruitment platform for clients and candidates across the sector.

Jilani has been recruiting into the Real Estate and Investment Management sector for over 12 years, working with clients that include REITs, developers, investment managers and Private Equity firms. He executes retained and executive search mandates, as well as exclusive contingent recruitment campaigns, and advises on organisational talent strategy.
Jilani started his recruitment career at Badenoch & Clark where he set up the Real Estate finance desk recruiting accountants and finance professionals. At Cobalt Recruitment, Jilani was Director of the Finance division, where alongside executing his own recruitment mandates, he was responsible for divisional strategy, P&L and growth of the team.
Jilani holds a BSc in Mathematics and Business Management from Queen Mary, University of London. In his spare time Jilani is a keen runner and documentary buff, as well as an avid sports fan.
George Oliver

George’s sector expertise combined with insight, empathy and understanding has helped him develop close relationships within his network.

Tom joined Strand Hill in April 2021 as a Consultant working on finance & accounting mandates. He has successfully partnered and placed talent with leading businesses across the sector. His ability to understand and identify what clients and candidates are looking for has allowed him to ensure all parties have a positive and transparent recruitment experience.
Tom started his career at Cobalt Recruitment as a Candidate Manager as part of his industrial placement year whilst studying Geography and Management at Loughborough University.
Connie Skillern

Connie joined us in August 2023 as a Consultant on our finance and accounting desk. She’ll be working with Institutional Investors, Private Equity, Asset Managers, Prop Cos, and Developers. Connie graduated with first-class honours in French, Spanish, and Portuguese from the University of Bristol. Connie previously worked for the Community of Madrid in Spain and has also completed an internship for a documentary company in Paris.
In her free time, Connie enjoys going to the cinema, traveling and has a RYA qualification in sailing.
Megan Wilkinson

Megan started with us in December 2023 as our Office and Operations Manager. Having come from a recruitment background, she understands the complexities behind a successful partnership and strives to create memorable experiences for her clients, candidates and colleagues alike. Megan graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2015 and has also been working as a professional actor ever since.
In her free time, Megan enjoys going to the theatre, travelling and photography.
