A leading global investment management firm specialising in real assets, with a 30+ year track record and operations across multiple international offices is looking to hire a Management Accountant to join their growing team. The business manages assets on behalf of institutional investors worldwide and is recognised for its responsible, sustainable investment approach.
This role is a hands-on and developmental role, supporting a range of accounting, reporting, and regulatory processes across the UK.
The Role
The Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. Working closely with the Senior Group Finance Manager, you’ll take ownership of management accounts, financial statements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting, while supporting the implementation of new systems and process improvements.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure to both financial and management accounting, as well as opportunities to build technical expertise in a global investment management environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Review bank journals, purchase and sales ledger inputs, and VAT entries.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations with international teams.
- Monitor cash balances and maintain intra-group loan schedules.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including credit control and disbursements.
- Prepare statutory financial statements.
- Support external audit processes, ensuring timely responses and accurate submissions.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and management reporting.
- Support FCA-related reporting, including client money (CASS) compliance.
- Assist with procurement system implementation and process improvement projects.
- Contribute to Group Treasury, budgeting and ESG-related initiatives.
About You
- Part-qualified or recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within an accounting role — ideally in financial services or investment management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (Dynamics 365, Hyperion, or SAP Concur advantageous).
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
