Management Accountant
Salary: £60,000/yr - £65,000/yr
A FTSE100 Property Developer is looking to onboard a commercially minded Management Accountant.
The business is responsible for some of the most iconic residential lead placemaking schemes in central London, creating communities and spaces where people love to live. The business is well known for excellence in delivery and prides itself on fostering a culture of excellence, openness and collaboration.
As a Management Accountant you would have a broad remit and be tasked with partnering with a number of key stakeholders, including: land, technical, sales and marketing teams; to help financial appraise, delivery and provide strong financial controls for schemes upwards of £1bn GDVs.
The successful candidate would be joining a high performing team of likely minded professionals, all of whom are qualified accountants and have a strong background and expertise in the sector. This role is suitable for a newly qualified accountant (trained in practice or industry) that has a passion for real estate, is commercial astute and thrives when working with non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnering with land, technical, sales and marketing teams to provide insightful commentary on budget vs actuals throughout the development lifecycle
- Working with commercial teams to financially appraise different development schemes / fit outs to determine how to drive value across the portfolio
- Production of monthly management accounts (P+L, Balance sheet) to ensure robust financial control.
- Production of cash flow forecasts to ensure appropriate funding is in place and assessing the profitability of schemes
- Support the HO Finance in process improvement work to drive business efficiency
- Oversight of junior finance team in the delivery of month end tasks (journalling, AP/AR, accruals, prepayments, etc)
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in property / property clients (if in practice) would be beneficial
- An ability to communicate with non-financial stakeholders
- A desire to work collaboratively in a team, ideally with an interest in coming into the office more so than not (4/1)
